Add-On-Lens
The add-on-lens is suitable for people whose body's own lens has already been replaced with an artificial lens. - Previously used artificial lenses could only assist the view at a distance - reading glasses were still necessary. Multifocal lenses of the latest generation on the other hand make it possible to see sharply both at a distance and in close range, yet this is of no benefit for the millions of people who have already been operated on.By now however an ideal technique for such cases is available. Special piggy-back-lenses or add-on-lenses - that are seated in front of an already implanted lens - were developed. Those piggy-back-lenses are pencil thin by design and may be manufactured and implanted individually according to the requirements of the eye.
This way people who had already undergone surgery years before are offered an opportunity of doing without glasses even in close range. The add-on-lens signifies advanced intraocular artificial-lens-optics:
- PRESBYOPIA becomes treatable
- extreme DEFECTIVE VISION is rectifiable
- both PROXIMITY and DISTANCE are clearly pictured again
- The result is PERMANENT - so to speak "lifelong"
- Blue-light-filter ("yellow" lens) for protecting the retina.

- diffractive bifocal optics, emphasised at a distance especially when the pupil is dilated
- good image quality - "aberration correcting" tailored to the eye
- ideal surface character (silicone lens), similar to the natural lens
